PIF Ball: new venue, new MC – and lots of 60s glamour

The Property Industry Foundation’s (PIF) Annual Charity Ball in Sydney is well known in the industry for its outlandish theming, a brilliant setting to network and of course raising money to build homes for homeless youth. The event on 26 July, sponsored by Ganellen, will have all of that – and a great new location!

This year PIF are heading back in time with a glamourous theme based on Truman Capote’s infamous New York Black and White Ball of the 1960s. At the height of his fame, the author of Breakfast at Tiffany’s invited 540 of his “closest friends” to this lavish event.

The Ball is moving to the Grand Ballroom at the swish International Convention Centre (ICC), Darling Harbour.

PIF CEO Kate Mills says it was time reinvigorate the event and do more of what people love.

“We wanted to give it the glamour that the ICC has – and the central location,” she said. “But not forgetting the PIF Charity Ball is one of the few premier themed events around – and PIF does it to a crazy level.”

Leading the fun and top-class entertainment will be comedian and TV personality Gretel Killeen as MC, encouraging property and construction leaders to part with their cash for a great cause in auctions and raffles.

PIF’s goal between 2017 – 2021 is to build 125 bedrooms for homeless young people. So far, the organisation has completed 56 bedrooms with 36 in development. The fundraising target for the Ball is to raise $2,000 to build more of those bedrooms.

Over 45 leading organisations have already booked their table at the Ball with the premium Diamond and Black tables already being snapped up. The final white tables remain, and Kate Mills encourages you to book if you haven’t already done so.

“Don’t miss out, this is the industry event of the year,” she said. “It’s also an opportunity to show your generosity among your colleagues for this crucial cause.”

The Ball is expected to attract over 0 people and will offer attendees top class food and drinks, fun entertainment and fundraising through a Golden Raffle and both Live and Silent Auctions.

This year’s Golden Raffle prize is a magnificent Maldives holiday for two (including flights) with tickets limited to just 0. All profits from the Ball, auction prizes and raffle will go directly into the PIF House program to build homes for homeless youth. Current projects underway in Sydney include PIF Houses in Macarthur Heights, Toongabbie and Kingsford.
