Peter Seamer resigns from Victorian Planning AuthorityCEO of the Victorian Planning Authority, Peter Seamer will be stepping down from the role as of 13 April, 2017.Since taking the helm at what was then the Growth Areas Authority (GAA), Peter has been a key driver at the GAA, the Metropolitan Planning Authority, and now the Victorian Planning Authority.The GAA was created in 2006 to coordinate planning and development across Melbourne’s greenfield sites and since then, its successor organisations have worked closely with local government and industry to create a vibrant and well serviced Greenfield sector.One of Peter’s finest achievements has been helping ensure affordable home ownership in well planned growth areas with access to services and infrastructure.He also led the VPA’s efforts to strategically plan many middle and inner city projects, in areas like the Arden Precinct, the Monash, La Trobe and Sunshine Employment clusters.The Victorian Government has indicated that Peter will serve the state in a new strategic role to be announced shortly. A search for a new VPA CEO is now underway.The Property Council of Australia would like to thank Peter Seamer for his invaluable contributions to planning over the years, and his efforts to promote a more liveable, affordable future for generations of Victorians.
