Perth Parking Policy Under Review

The Property Council welcomes the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes to the Perth Parking Policy.

A recent review of the Perth Parking legislation has identified a range of issues, potential risks and improvements related to both governance and administration.

Key proposed amendments include:

  • Increased penalties for non-compliance
  • Director General of Transport to have the ability to cancel or amend a license when a building is demolished or redeveloped.
  • Enabling conditions to be imposed on licenses in particular situations.
  • Removal or variation  of certain conditions in preliminary approval on application by the owner
  • Prescribed standard expiry dates.
