Perth and Peel @ 3.5 million

The State Government released the final Perth and Peel @ 3.5 million planning frameworks, which define where development can and can’t occur over the next 30 years.

The plans were originally circulated for public comment under the former Government, and are now published in their final form.

Finalisation of these plans by Government represents the first step in the strategic planning process, and the Property Council will be engaging with Government as more detailed sub-regional and place specific planning is undertaken to ensure optimum outcomes for all stakeholders.

Property Council met with outgoing Chair of the West Australian Planning Commission, Eric Lumsden and confirmed that Property Council will be advocating for the State Government to progress the strategic planning as a priority.

The frameworks themselves are intended to be continuously monitored, and reviewed after 3 years, so there should be additional opportunities to influence their content going forward.
