Industry stalwart retires; Menhinnitt steps up at Lendlease; two new associates at Gray Puksand; Property Council promotes Top End executive director; RCQ appoints estimating manager and Ray White boosts industrial team in Brisbane.
Ken Reed, founder of Queensland developer and construction company Reed Property Group (RPG), has announced his resignation as chairman after almost three decades with the company. The move is part of a long-term succession plan that started in 2014 when Jay Emmerton was appointed as CEO and Ken Reed removed himself from the day-to-day running of the business. “It’s been a wonderful journey and I am very proud to have been part of an organisation that has contributed to both the skyline of the Sunshine Coast and the creation of new communities across Queensland,” says Reed.
Lendlease has announced that Mark Menhinnitt, group executive Major Projects, has been appointed as managing director, Urban Regeneration and Infrastructure Development in its Australian business. Menhinnitt will remain responsible for Capella Capital, Lendlease’s infrastructure development business. Menhinnitt joined Lendlease in 1988 and has been leading the Major Projects team and the Infrastructure Development business unit since March 2015. In this new position, he will replace Jonathan Emery who is relocating to London where he has been appointed managing director of Property, Europe for Lendlease.
Architecture firm Gray Puksand has promoted Chris Scoble and Dale O’Brien to the position of associate. Scoble has worked with Gray Puksand for eight years as a project leader on education and commercial projects and O’Brien is an interior designer leading Workspace, Retail and Commercial Refurbishment at Gray Puksand.
Ruth Palmer has been promoted to the position of Northern Territory executive director for the Property Council of Australia. Palmer joined the Property Council in early 2015 after working for seven years with the Northern Territory Government, first in the communications unit for the then Chief Minister Paul Henderson and later as an advisor with the Leader of the Opposition, Delia Lawrie MLA.
Queensland-based RCQ Construction has appointed Brett Russell as its estimating manager, promoting him from the position of senior estimator. Russell joined RCQ in 2014 after holding various positions with Tomkins, Hutchinson Builders and Vantage Holdings.
Four sales and leasing agents from Chase Commercial have recently moved to Ray White Industrial Milton in Brisbane. Luke Wray, Aron Burtenshaw, Matt Way and Jaems Balfour are specialists in the Brisbane commercial fringe and industrial markets.
