People on the move – 9 March 2015Colliers International promotes several members of its Real Estate Management business, including Denis Coupland to the position of managing director; and Reed appoints Jay Emmerton as head of development.Colliers International has promoted Denis Coupland to the position of managing director of Real Estate Management (REM). Coupland has more than 30 years’ experience in property, asset and real estate management. In addition, he is the chair of the Property Council’s National Professional Development Committee and is on the judging panel of the Property Council’s Innovation and Excellence Awards.Sara Pratt will be promoted to the new role of national director and head of operations, REM, having led Colliers International’s North Sydney division for the past four years.The other promotions within the REM team are: Paul Tosi to the position of national director, Financial and Client Accounting; Julia Batterley to the role of national director, Private Clients; and Michael Rowlands, who will lead the REM division in NSW. Jay Emmerton has been hired as Reed Property Group’s (RPG) head of development in Queensland. The appointment follows RPG’s hiring of a new group CFO.Emmerton said RPG had several projects already underway in South East Queensland and further afield and he welcomed the challenge of helping to expand the company’s presence across the state. Emmerton will focus his attention on delivering RPG’s current developments, including Emporio in Maroochydore and Belise in Brisbane, and will look to source a new pipeline of developments.Emmerton comes to the role with more than two decades’ experience in property, including expertise in leading development teams. The companies he has worked for include Mirvac, Urbex (part of BMD Constructions) and Baulderstone Hornibrook.
