People on the move – 9 June 2015Former Olympic swimmer Matthew Dunn joins Savills; Richard Weinman joins Woods Bagot as lifestyle sector leader; Caitlin Murdoch joins CBRE’s Melbourne office leasing team; and Jamie Smith is appointed a director at KPMG.Matthew Dunn, former Olympic swimmer, has joined Savills’ Capital Transactions team in NSW as a director. Dunn worked for Goodman and Parkview Group after retiring from competitive swimming in 2001 and was most recently with Pepper Property. Dunn will focus on Savills NSW’s suburban commercial investments.Simon Fenn, Savills’ NSW managing director, said Dunn is highly regarded in the institutional and investment arena. “As evidenced in his earlier years as a record-breaking athlete, Matt is driven by his passion to succeed; this, coupled with his experience, will further build upon our highly regarded and successful Capital Transactions team.”Richard Weinman has been appointed lifestyle sector leader at Woods Bagot. Weinman is a registered architect with experience in the design and project management of large-scale commercial and residential developments. He has also delivered major retail, recreational and social housing projects. From the firm’s Sydney office, he will lead the residential team in delivering a diverse portfolio of multi-use residential projects.Weinman has experience across several continents, having held senior project management roles in Oceania, Asia and the Middle East. On his return to Sydney, he was project manager for Frasers Property’s Trio residential development and was involved in the design of high-profile multi-residential buildings in the Melbourne CBD and a luxury resort for the Hilton Group in the Yarra Valley.At CBRE, Caitlin Murdoch has been appointed senior associate director of the firm’s city fringe office leasing business in Melbourne. Murdoch has more than eight years’ experience in commercial property leasing and sales. She joins CBRE after leading Knight Frank’s Melbourne city fringe office leasing team.Andrew Tracey, CBRE’s regional director of Office Services, said Murdoch’s appointment would strengthen the firm’s client service offering. “Caitlin’s deep knowledge of the market and her understanding of the key drivers for tenants when considering a move has ensured she is highly rated by clients,” Tracey said. “Caitlin is extremely proactive and is recognised as one of the market leaders in the city fringe.”Meanwhile, Jamie Smith has been appointed KPMG’s director of real estate advisory practice, based in Sydney. He spent several years at Mirvac/James Fielding Group and was most recently head of commercial property at Aspen.
