The Australian Government appoints Julianne Alroe as chair of the independent Infrastructure Australia board, Turner & Townshend hires Andrew Pearce to spearhead growth in Canberra and LJ Hooker expands its team.

Julieanne Alroe (pictured) has been appointed chair of the independent Infrastructure Australia board, following the retirement of Mark Birrell. Alroe has more than 30 years’ experience in commercial airport management and operations, infrastructure management, strategic planning and corporate affairs. She was a member of the Infrastructure Australia board prior to her appointment as the new chair and is currently the CEO and managing director at Brisbane Airport Corporation Limited.

Professional services firm Turner & Townsend has hired a new director, Andrew Pearce, to spearhead the company’s project management business in the Canberra region. Pearce, an engineer and project management specialist, brings to the role a wealth of experience gained on flagship projects including Heathrow Terminal 5 and East London Line, and most recently, Canberra’s Light Rail.

Ben Stapleton joins global engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Aurecon as managing director of its infrastructure business. Stapleton has significant experience in the infrastructure industry across many geographies and roles.

Steve Mutton joins LJ Hooker as Queensland development manager, bringing with him the experience of owning six Ray White agencies on the Gold Coast. Mutton is tasked with expanding the brand’s Queensland network in emerging markets from Coolangatta to Cairns. Auctioneer David Holmes has also been appointed as LJ Hooker’s national auctions manager and Jason Rose has been appointed national growth coach.
