AHURI appoints a new executive director, Dr Michael Fotheringham. Meanwhile, John Brogden will step into the role of interim chief executive of Landcom, Brendan Munari joins Bosco Jonson, and NABERS expands its team.

The Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) has a new executive director.  Dr Michael Fotheringham (pictured) takes on the top job, when Dr Ian Winter steps down in mid-December after fourteen years in the role. Fotheringham is currently AHURI’s head of research services and deputy executive director. Prior to this, Fotheringham worked as a public health researcher and as a policy specialist and executive in health and human services.

Former NSW opposition leader John Brogden has been appointed interim chief executive of NSW’s land and development agency Landcom. Brogden, who has been chair of UrbanGrowth NSW since 2012, will step down to lead Landcom for six months until a permanent appointment is made.

Town planning, design and surveying firm Veris has welcomed survey development manager Brendan Munari to its Bosco Jonson team. A former survey manager at SMEC, Munari will head up business development across the Veris group of companies.

AVID Property Group welcomes two new members to its leadership team, as the company pushes into the national apartment and medium density housing markets. Peter Vlitas is the company’s new general manager of its Victorian business, while Danny Boubli takes on the newly-created role of project director to drive the company’s focus on apartments and medium density dwellings.

The National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) has a new team. Ratings under the NABERS system, which is managed by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, has increased by 40 per cent over the last year, and so new roles have been created. Alberta McAteer, previously head of training and accreditation, takes on head of creative content and strategy. Dennis Lee, formerly technical team leader, has been appointed head of technical standards. Andy Dunne, previously a senior consultant with the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation, is the new head of innovation and development. Joining the technical team are Robert Hughes, Nadine Wagstaff, Xiaofeng Li, Michelle Cheeseman and Erika Canuti.

NABERS has also appointed a swag of marketing and communications experts, including Tessa Breakspear as communications officer; Katie Eyles as UX specialist; Simanjuntak Ahmad in program support; Monique Alfris as NABERS for apartment buildings project manager, and Bessie Quansah as communications manager.

LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Anita Mustac as a client executive for Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, Mustac will market LaSalle’s global capabilities to Australian and New Zealand investors. Prior to LaSalle, Mustac founded Dokotela, a digital healthcare platform and previously spent six years in investment banking, most recently at Fort Street Advisors.
