Mott McDonald appoints a new technical director, Adrian Garnero. Meanwhile, there’s movement in the nation’s capital, with Nic Purdue joining the Savills team and Aurecon growing its head count by 18. 

Global engineering, management and development company Mott MacDonald has appointed Adrian Garnero (pictured) as a technical director in its advisory business in Australia. Garnero joins Mott MacDonald from Transport for New South Wales, where he was program director for the multi-billion dollar Transport Access Program. Prior to this, he was general manager for network development at Rail Corporation New South Wales.

Savills has appointed Nic Purdue as director of commercial sales in its Canberra office. Purdue will focus on both institutional and private clients. He has moved over from Knight Frank, where he has led the ACT institutional sales business for three years. Prior to Knight Frank, Purdue worked in metro sales for JLL in Canberra and North Sydney.

Aurecon has ramped up its Canberra office growth with 18 new appointments. Among them is Craig Pandy who will lead Aurecon’s infrastructure advisory team in the nation’s capital. Pandy was most recently with Nous Group management consultancy and has previously worked with A.T. Kearney, National Australia Bank and the Department of Defence. Other appointments include David Milo, formerly a partner at Deloitte, James Collett, moving over from the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Luke Williamson formerly of EY and Accenture. The appointments increase Aurecon’s staff count by almost per cent, to 58.

Professor Alan Peters, an expert in urban planning and its economic impact, has been appointed the new head of the University of Adelaide’s School of Architecture and Built Environment. Peters has served as the head of the School of Built Environment and deputy dean of the Faculty of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales for seven years.
