People on the Move – 6 December 2016

AMP Capital makes changes to its retail real estate business, Savills and CBRE announce new appointments in Melbourne and Adelaide, and Mirvac’s head of residential steps down.

Bryan Hynes is stepping down from the role of managing director at AMP Capital Shopping Centres, after 18 years with the company. Since Hynes assumed the reins in 2007, AMP’s shopping centres business has grown from $4 billion to $10 billion in assets under management. Mark Kirkland, currently AMP Capital’s head of shopping centre development, takes on the top job from 1 January 2017. Greg Antoniadis will replace Mark Kirkland as AMP Capital’s head of development for shopping centres, while Con Brakatselos, currently head of investment management and strategy, will take on a refocused role, working on strategy, acquisitions, digital and the future focus of retail.

Savills Australia’s Victorian project management division has appointed Chris Chapman to the role of senior project manager. Chapman has previously worked at not-for-profit Karingal Inc and with Incoll/Savills for five years.

Matt Willis (pictured) joins CBRE in Adelaide in the advisory and transaction services office team as a negotiator. Willis has previously worked with CBRE’s large format team.

John Carfi, Mirvac Group’s head of residential, will step down in February to pursue a new opportunity in Dubai as chief executive officer of Emaar Properties PJSC. Carfi joined Mirvac in 2001. Mirvac’s chief investment officer, Brett Draffen, will take on the role until a permanent replacement is found.
