Investa announces new board; GHD makes senior appointments in Australia; JLL releases promotions for 2016; Crown Group appoints hotel specialist; new director for Ray White Commercial NSW; and CBRE hires in Brisbane and Perth.
Following the purchase earlier this year of the Investa management platform from Morgan Stanley, Investa Property Group has announced the make-up of the new independent board for Investa Office Management.
The new chair of the board is high profile businesswoman Rebecca McGrath (pictured), former chief financial officer of BP Australia. McGrath is also a non-executive director of Goodman Group, Incitec Pivot Ltd and Oz Minerals Ltd, a member of the advisory council of JP Morgan Australia and an independent director of Scania Australia and Barristers’ Chambers Ltd.
Investa has also appointed Jennifer Lambert and Sydney Bone as independent directors of Investa Office Management Pty Ltd.
Lambert is a non-executive director of Mission Australia and was the chief financial officer of 151 Property (formally Valad) for 13 years. Bone is currently executive director of specialist fund manager CP2 and was formerly CEO and director of Victorian Funds Management Corporation.
The independent directors will be joined on the Investa Platform board by Bob Seidler, a non-executive director of Investa Listed Funds Management; Dennis Wildenburg, a non-executive director of Investa Wholesale Funds Management; Jonathan Callaghan, chief executive officer, Investa; and Peter Menegazzo, the chief investment officer, Investa.
Global engineering, architecture and construction services company GHD has made four senior appointments in the Australian region.
Jill Hannaford has been appointed Technical Services Leader, Australia. She has been at GHD for more than 23 years and was involved in the establishment of the company’s Stakeholder Engagement and Social Sustainability service.
Sonia Adams is the new Market Development Leader, Australia. Adams was former manager – Client Liaison in Sydney.
In Western Australia Sheldon Krahe has been appointed manager. As Australian Market Leader – Property and Buildings, Krahe has played a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting the growth of the GHD Woodhead integrated design practice.
He takes over the manager Western Australia role from Craig Walkemeyer who is now Australian Market Leader – Energy and Resources at GHD.
Professional services company Turner & Townsend has appointed Mark Freestone as its director of Cost Management in Brisbane. He was formerly a senior associate at Rider Levett Bucknall.
JLL has announced its annual promotions with six senior directors promoted to the role of Asia Pacific regional director, including three women. They are:
- Noral Wild – head of Health and Aged Care and Student Accommodation Services
- Tyrone Hodge – head of NSW Valuations & Advisory
- Kim Hicks – head of Finance Australia
- Carolyn Trickett – director of Business Technology, Property & Asset Management
- Peter Walsh – Victorian head of Tenant Representation
- Phil Clark – head of Business Transformation, Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)
In all, 204 employees of the JLL Australia business were promoted, including 36 to director level.
Crown Group has appointed Wayne Taranto as director of Hotels and Suites. Prior to joining Crown Group, Taranto held senior management roles with Amalgamated Holdings Limited and Accor Hotels and, more recently, was general manager of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.
Tom O’Driscoll has joined CBRE’s Capital Markets division in Brisbane as associate director. He was formerly with Knight Frank, specialising in CBD sales and leasing.
In Perth, CBRE has appointed Jack Divitini as manager in its Perth Advisory and Transaction Services, Industrial & Logistics team. Divitini was previously with Raine & Horne Commercial.
Michael Ajaka has moved from JLL to become a director of Ray White Commercial NSW.
