People on the Move – 31 January 2017The Council of the Order of Australia has recognised a number of property leaders on the Australia Day honours list, including Alastair Swayn, Allan Pigeon, Justin Madden and Bernard Salt.Alastair Swayn, who passed away in 2016, has been posthumously appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for “distinguished service to architecture”.Property developer Allan Pidgeon was made a Member of the General Division (AM) for his “significant service to the community through a range of roles, particularly to the promotion of the Australian national flag”.Former Victorian Minister for Planning, the Hon Justin Madden was awarded an AM for his service to the Parliament of Victoria, while Bernard Salt was recognised for his work as a demographer, and “through research and commentary on social and cultural change”.Graham Martin, James Service, Allan Fife, John McInerney, Adjunct Professor Robert Morris-Nunn, Aia Thomas, Alan Synman, Robert Anderson, Robin Fardoulys, Thomas Morris, John Shalit and William Bowness were all acknowledged for their sustained contributions to the built environment industry.Meanwhile, Mantra Group has appointed Andrew McTaggart as development manager to drive the company’s ongoing expansion. McTaggart has previously held senior executive positions with Accor and Accor Premier Vacation Club.And Joshua Larsen joins Di Jones Real Estate as head of auctions and sales development.
