Raine & Horne appoints Brian Reid as CEO; Chris Key to lead JLL’s Corporate Finance platform across Asia-Pacific; and Knight Frank and Architectus make two senior appointments each.
Brian Reid has been promoted from the position of chief operating officer to CEO at Raine & Horne. He succeeds Angus Raine, who will now focus solely on his role as the firm’s executive chairman.
“Brian has an impressive and extensive real estate franchising résumé, and over the past 12 months has been implementing a number of exciting initiatives around our IT platforms,” Raine said.
Many of these initiatives have been aimed at staff recruitment and retention, which Reid said will remain as the main drivers for the Raine & Horne group.
Chris Key has been promoted from head of JLL’s Corporate Finance team in Australia to head of Corporate Finance for Asia-Pacific. Key has more than 15 years’ experience in investment banking and funds management and has advised on transactions covering the UK, Europe, the US, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Knight Frank has made two senior staff appointments by hiring Angus Klem as managing director of its North Sydney office and promoting Tim Armstrong as NSW head of Industrial.
Klem comes to Knight Frank from CBRE, where he led the firm’s South Sydney and Newcastle offices. Armstrong will relocate to Sydney from Knight Frank’s Brisbane office, where he spent eight years as senior director of Industrial Sales & Leasing.
Architecture practice Architectus has promoted Luke Johnson and Robert Ousey to principals. Ousey joined Architectus in 2007 and has more than two decades’ experience in the design of commercial, aviation and highly specialised scientific facilities. Johnson joined Architectus one year ago and has experience in transport infrastructure, education, science, health, office, the arts and cultural projects.
