People on the move – 30 June 2014Knight Frank appoints retail expert Michael Hanscomb; Cromwell Property Group replaces an outgoing state manager; AECOM adds to its Planning team; and Colliers International appoints a new head of Tenant Representation.Knight Frank has announced the appointment of retail expert Michael Hanscomb as director of Retail Leasing in its Sydney office. Hanscomb’s appointment alongside Alex Alamsyah helps strengthen the company’s retail CBD leasing business.Hanscomb joins Knight Frank after nine years specialising in CBD retail leasing at CBRE, where he worked across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney markets.At Cromwell Property Group, Daniel Thomas has taken on the position of state manager for Victoria, SA and Tasmania. He replaces former Victorian state manager Stephen Payne, who is retiring after 38 years in the financial services industry.Thomas will be responsible for promoting Cromwell to financial intermediaries and distributing the company’s products. He will also work closely with financial planners, dealer groups or licensees and research houses throughout Australia. He has more than 18 years’ experience in financial services, the majority of that time spent working in funds management for Colonial First State and Australian Unity Investments.In Adelaide, infrastructure and support services firm AECOM has appointed planning, transport and infrastructure specialist Brenton Burman to its Australian Design and Planning team.Burman comes to the role of technical director, Transport Planning and Urban Development, with more than 32 years’ experience within the local and state government and private sectors. He has been responsible for the project management and delivery of numerous transport and land use planning projects, including the South Road Planning Study, the SA Integrated Transport and Land Use Plan and the Adelaide Airport Master Plan.He is AECOM’s third high-profile Planning appointment in recent months.Meanwhile, Colliers International has appointed Tom Pullinen to lead its growing Tenant Representation team. Pullinen’s appointment (from September) will help strengthen Colliers’ tenant representation offering.Pullinen joins Colliers from Cushman & Wakefield, where he held the position of executive director of Occupier Services. Prior to that role, he led his own boutique tenant advisory firm and worked within other agencies.
