JLL names new president; senior policy advisor appointed at the Property Council; Savills hires state director in Victoria; promotion at The Buchan Group; and DWPF employs fund manager.

Christian Ulbrich (pictured), who has been president of JLL since June this year, will assume the position of chief executive officer from October. Ulbrich will succeed Colin Dyer, who will retire from JLL at the end of 2016 and step down from the CEO role at the end of September. Dyer will remain on the board of directors and serve as an adviser until the end of 2017. Ulbrich joined JLL in 2005 as managing director of JLL Germany and served as EMEA CEO since 2009 before being named president. Before joining JLL he was CEO of the HIH group of companies based in Hamburg, Germany, and part of MM Warburg Bank, holding various positions within German and international banks.

The Property Council’s NSW office has announced the appointment of Tim Wheeler as NSW senior policy advisor. Wheeler was most recently at Standards Australia, where he worked on a range of projects in the built environment and has previously worked for the Federal Government in policy roles on sustainability and climate change.

Paul Le Sueur has joined Savills Australia as state director in charge of its Victorian Asset Management division. Le Sueur has more than 25 years experience in the property industry, including five years in Abu Dhabi with JBI Property Services and ALDAR Properties as head of commercial property management and, most recently, as national property and portfolio manager with a global property services company in Tokyo.

Ashley Sheppard has been promoted to principal at design firm The Buchan Group. Sheppard has been with Buchan for 10 years and has worked on projects including Emporium Melbourne, Eastland in suburban Melbourne, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City in the UK and, most recently, the redevelopment of Castle Towers in Sydney.

DEXUS Wholesale Property Fund has appointed Michael Sheffield as fund manager. Sheffield is currently fund manager of DEXUS Property Group’s diversified Australian portfolio and has previously held roles at Colonial, Investa, Commonwealth Bank and Lend Lease.
