Devine CEO steps down; eastern states beckon for new ICMD recruit; Victorian Government appoints Government Architect; promotion at CI Australia; JLL and PSGH evolve into joint venture; Adelaide Airport lures CBRE MD back from Hong Kong.
After five years at the helm David Keir has announced his resignation as CEO/managing director of housing developer Devine. Keir will remain with the business to near the end of 2015.
Rebecca Douthwaite has moved from Perth to Sydney to take up the position as senior policy advisor at the International and Capital Markets Division of the Property Council of Australia. Douthwaite was previously policy and research manager for the WA office of the Property Council.
Following Douthwaite’s departure to Sydney, David Moore-Crouch has joined the Property Council team in Perth as senior policy advisor. He returned home to Perth recently after working in advocacy and communications roles for multi-national companies in the UK, including Allianz.
Jill Garner of Garner Davis Architects (GDA) has been appointed as Victoria’s new Government Architect. Garner has been serving as the Associate Victorian Government Architect since 2010 and has more than 25 years of experience in the sector including teaching design, architectural history and contemporary theory at RMIT and the University of Melbourne.
CI Australia (formerly Chestertons International) has promoted Michael Sheppard to the role of director, Asset Management.
JLL and Pacific Services Group Holdings (PSGH) have agreed to establish a joint venture to form Evolve Facilities Management. PSGH is one of Australia’s leading Indigenous-owned companies, employing 58 staff nationally across NSW, Queensland, WA, SA, ACT and the Northern Territory. JLL and Pacific Services Group have had a partnership over the past two years, with PSGH providing sub-contracted cleaning, security and administration services to JLL clients. Mark Coleman, previously head of Strategy at PSGH, will take up the role of CEO of Evolve Facilities Management. JLL’s head of Government Business for IFM Steve Mackintosh will take a position on the Evolve Board. Troy Rugless, founder of PSGH, will also join the Evolve board.
Craig Shute will return to Adelaide from Hong Kong to take up the position of executive general manager Property at Adelaide Airport. Shute has been senior managing director for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan at CBRE. He joined CBRE’s Hong Kong team as managing director in August 2008, following senior management positions with CBRE in Adelaide, San Diego and Las Vegas. In November 2013, he was promoted to the Asia Pacific Strategic Group (APSG).
Phil Wilkinson, who has headed up the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating institute (AIRAH) for the past five years, is to step down as CEO but will continue to work for the institute in policy, strategy, stakeholder engagement and government relations. Wilkinson will stay in the CEO role until a replacement is appointed.
