New head of Sustainability at JLL; GBCA Future Green Leader named; Woods Bagot stalwart retires; promotions at Fitzroys; independent chairman for HomeWorld; CBRE expands Valuation & Advisory team; and Switch Automation appoints sustainability expert.
JLL has appointed a new director of Sustainability – Australia. Simone Concha (pictured) has a long association with the sustainability industry in NSW, starting work as a sustainability consultant with Advanced Environmental in 2003. Prior to this, she was a graduate engineer at Multiplex Constructions. Most recently, she was sustainability manager for Hansen Yuncken where she was responsible for Corporate Sustainability and delivery of projects’ sustainability ratings such as Green Star, NABERS and LEED. She is a Member of the Green Building Council of Australia, a Green Star Accredited Professional and Certified Assessor.
Another member of JLL’s sustainability team, Lisa Hinde, has been named 2015 Future Green Leader by the Green Building Council of Australia. With a Masters degree in Sustainable Development from the University of NSW, Hinde has been a member of volunteer teams taking part in sustainability projects overseas, from Vanuatu to South Africa. She is also a trained Green Star Accredited Professional.
After more than 23 years, global director Rodger Dalling is leaving design firm Woods Bagot. During his time at Woods Bagot, Dalling focussed on major development projects including the $4 million Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Docklands and the five-star Hilton South Wharf hotel design. He also spent time overseas leading teams on projects in Asia and the Middle East including the Qatar Science and Technology Park. Dalling plans to remain an active player in the industry, working part-time and helping clients with reviews, while continuing to source major projects.
Melbourne-based agency Fitzroys has announced several promotions in its Management and Valuations & Advisory divisions. General manager of Shopping Centre Mark Adams has been made a senior associate. Sally Hollings has been promoted to associate following experience in the UK and Australia in asset management and Mars Njoo has been appointed as associate director.
HomeWorld Group of Companies has announced the appointment of Mike Scott as its first independent chairman of the board. Scott has more than 35 years experience in the housing and development industry. He has held a number of executive positions including roles with Devine and Urban Pacific and was most recently managing director of The Treadstone Company.
CBRE has expanded its NSW Valuation & Advisory Services platform with the announcement of three new recruits. Adam Fulton, Anthony Pulvirenti and Mia Walker have all joined CBRE from prior roles at Colliers International. Fulton and Pulvirenti will be based in CBRE’s Western Sydney office, with responsibility for office and industrial valuations in both Western Sydney and South Sydney. Walker will join CBRE’s NSW retail team as a valuer.
Cloud-based building information management platform Switch Automation has appointed Christina Hughes as national accounts manager Australia and New Zealand. Hughes has worked in the commercial property sustainability sector for more than 10 years and has been involved in Smart City initiatives such as CitySwitch.
Steve Begg has joined Raine & Horne to head up its recruitment division. Begg has held previous roles with Randstad, Tanner Menzies and Hamilton James & Bruce.
