Andrew Whitson leads the Residential Development Council board, the University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design & Planning appoints 13 new staff, while Advisian, Bates Smart and Savills announce new appointments.
Stockland’s group executive and chief executive officer of Residential, Andrew Whitson (pictured), has been appointed chair of the Property Council’s Residential Development Council. Whitson leads Stockland’s national residential business, which is the largest in the country. His appointment follows a six-year term as chair by Nigel Satterley AM, chief executive of the Satterley Property Group.
The University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning has appointed 13 new staff as its student cohort grows. Among the appointments are Professor Andrew Leach and Dr Arianna Brambilla, who join the architecture discipline in research and teaching, and Professor Jianlei Niu in building environment and energy.
Advisian, the global advisory arm of WorleyParsons has eight new principals. These include Kerryl Bradshaw, new WA branch manager, Tasman Graham responsible for Queensland, the Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea, and Matthew Robinson, sector leader in charge of energy and water. Connor Marley, Anna Wen, Craig Robinson, Peter Mann and Ian Taylor also round out the team.
Savills Australia’s Melbourne office adds to its growing residential projects team with the appointment of sales executive, Charles Callis, who joins the agency after stints with Castran Gilbert and Synergy BSM/SPEC Property.
Design firm Bates Smart has appointed Brenton Smith as a director. Smith’s notable projects include Sydney’s InterContinental Hotel and OneThirty Hyde.
The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the peak professional body for building services engineers, has appointed Sharon Pestonji as business development manager in the Australia New Zealand region. This is CIBSE’s first full-time appointment in the ANZ region in its 30-year history.
