Experienced property leader Brendan Crotty is named inaugural chair of the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation, and Ainsley Simpson takes on the top job at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.
Brendan Crotty (pictured) has been named inaugural chair of the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation, which will administer a new $1 billion housing infrastructure facility. Crotty, a director of The GPT Group and Brickworks Limited, was managing director of Australand, now Frasers Property Australia, for nearly two decades. He was also chairman of Western Sydney Parklands for nine years.
The Property Council has applauded the appointment. Chief executive Ken Morrison says Crotty is one of the most experienced business leaders in the Australian property industry. “He matches a deep understanding of investment and business dynamics with a commitment to social outcomes, best reflected in his role as the inaugural chair of the Green Building Council of Australia.”
Crotty will formally commence his appointment following passage of the enabling legislation for the NHFIC.
In other news, Ainsley Simpson is the new chief executive officer at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia. Simpson had been acting in the position since former CEO Antony Spriggs left the company in March. Prior to this, Simpson led ISCA’s technical delivery for two years. Sprigg is now working as an advisor with start-up Green Finance Alliance.
Rachel Gutter has been appointed president of the International WELL Building Institute, the organisation that developed the WELL Building Standard. Gutter succeeds Kamyar Vaghar, who leaves IWBI after two years to return to real estate. Gutter joined IWBI as chief product officer in 2016 and recently brought WELL v2 to the market. She previously spent nearly a decade at the US Green Building Council.
Sales agent Adam Joske has joined Belle Property as its head of Victoria and high performance coach and trainer. Joske, who’s previously appeared on The Block and has won multiple awards, was with Gary Peer and Associates for 22 years.
Bianca Docker joins JLL in Brisbane. Docker most recently oversaw the marketing strategy for Colliers International’s office leasing in Victoria and South Australia, and moves to JLL to enhance its operational and property marketing function in Queensland.
Property insights portal view.com.au has appointed Toby Balazs as CEO. Balazs takes over from current Enzo Raimondo, who has led the company since 2016. Balazs joins from REA, where he led online strategy. Raimondo was formerly chief executive officer of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria for 16 years.
