Property Council announces new regional manager for the Illawarra; board and executive team shake-up at Devine; GHD Woodhead appoints design director in Perth; and Canadian joins Knight Frank at Parramatta.

Jancey Malins (pictured) has joined the Property Council as the new regional manager – Illawarra, based in Wollongong. Malins was the former policy manager for the Illawarra Business Chamber and was previously a management consultant in Sydney and London with PwC.

Majority shareholder CIMIC Group has forced a shake-up of the board at residential developer Devine with the appointment of a new chairman and chief executive. Andrew Cooper, who was previously chief operating officer at CIMIC’s Leighton Holdings, is the new chief executive and will undertake a strategic review of Devine’s operations. Former chief executive of Devine David Keir left the company in November. At board level, Devine’s former independent chairman, Peter Dransfield, has been replaced by CIMIC veteran David Robinson and George Sassine, an executive at CIMIC, will join the board. Independent non-executive director Judith Downes and directors Mark Gray and Jeff Cummings will leave the board.

Meanwhile, former managing director at Leighton Contractors, Craig Laslett, has joined Lendlease as head of its Australian engineering unit. Laslett was most recently managing director, EIC Activities at CIMIC Group after Leighton changed its name to CIMIC in 2015.

Architecture and design firm GHD Woodhead has appointed Mark Popplewell as design director in its Perth office. He has almost 30 years experience in architecture and his recent projects include North One in Subiaco and 32 St Georges Terrace, a 1960s office building that was transformed with almost double the available floor area.

Mark Litwin has been appointed as associate director, Commercial Sales and Leasing, Capital Markets for Knight Frank, based in its Parramatta office. Litwin has moved to Sydney from the Canadian west coast where he spent 10 years in commercial sales and leasing.

Technē Architecture and Interior Design has appointed Gabriella Gulacsi to its leadership team as a senior associate. Her new role will be as a project leader within the commercial and workplace sector. Gulacsi began her career with Woods Bagot and subsequently worked as a project leader and associate for nine years at Geyer.
