People on the move – 24 November 2014Adam Tindall replaces Andrew Bird as director and chief investment officer at AMP Capital; Justin Clarke elected as chairman of McGees Property; and Colliers International announces Melbourne-based appointments.AMP Capital has announced that Adam Tindall will replace Andrew Bird in its leadership team. Bird, National Vice President of the Property Council, has declared his intention to resign in 2015 following a 37-year career in the property industry in the UK and Asia-Pacific. He has led AMP Capital’s property investment and management business since 2004.Tindall will take over as director and chief investment officer of property from his current position as chief operating officer of property. In that role he has been responsible for managing all the support functions for AMP Capital property, including finance, risk and compliance, communications and IT.Prior to joining AMP Capital in 2009, Tindall was executive director at Macquarie Capital Advisers, where he was responsible for leading a number of major transactions for clients such as DEXUS, Mirvac and Transfield Holdings. Among various other leadership roles, he was Bovis Lend Lease’s CEO of Asia-Pacific.Justin Clarke has been elected as chairman of commercial property group McGees Property, which specialises in the marina, health and education sectors. He is currently the company’s Queensland director.Clarke has worked in real estate for 25 years and has been with McGees Property since 1995. He was made a director in 2002, and in May 2004 he was a finalist in the Property Council/Walker Construction Group’s Young Achiever of the Year award.Colliers International has announced three new appointments, all of them in Melbourne.Shane Varenhout has been made senior property manager in Colliers International’s real estate management team, which is based in the firm’s Melbourne East office. He has more than 12 years’ experience in the property industry, including eight years managing property throughout metropolitan Melbourne.Nick Serafini has joined Colliers International’s office leasing team in the CBD as executive. He previously worked for Foxtons estate agents as a sales negotiator for new homes and investments, and for Knight Frank in its office leasing team.Alana Goldberg has joined Colliers International’s corporate solutions team, also in the CBD, as portfolio manager. She participated in Knight Frank’s scholarship program and recently finished a six-month rotational program at ISPT.
