LJ Hooker’s chief resigns after aborted ASX float, Savills, Colliers International and CBRE grow their teams, Donald Cant Watts Corke expands and Smart Urban Villages appoints two leaders.

Grant Harrod, chief executive of LJ Hooker, has resigned unexpectedly following a decision by the board to scrap plans for a $400 million float on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Ash Sharma joins Savills as a director of office leasing, following eight years with a global real estate firm in Asia where he served as a senior vice president in office services.

Colliers International has expanded its tenant advisory team in Melbourne with the appointment of Lina De Petro as an associate director. De Petro joins Colliers International from JLL.

CBRE has strengthened its industrial and logistics capital markets team in Victoria with the appointment of sales professional Ben Hegerty.

Donald Cant Watts Corke has made a number of senior level appointments in Western Australia, following the appointment of Neil Dickson as managing director in December. Sharon Yap has been promoted to director and Niamh O’Connor to associate director.

Smart Urban Villages has appointed Nicole Gerschel as a Sydney principal and Toby Daniel as director of finance and investment. The company is about to embark on its eco-village project which incorporates affordable housing.
