People on the move – 23 June 2014CBRE appoints a new head of asset services; JLL appoints a residential development valuations expert in Victoria; and the Property Council seeks applicants for the role of chief operating officer.Andrew Nicholson has been appointed CBRE’s new head of asset services (property management) for the Asia Pacific, succeeding Sam Cuccurullo, who retires towards the end of the year after 19 years at the business. Nicholson joins CBRE from Swire Properties Ltd, where he was a portfolio manager for a commercial and development portfolio worth more than US$2.5 billion.JLL’s Victorian Valuations team has a new senior director, with Chris Smirnakos moving from LandMark White in July. Bringing 30 years’ experience in the Melbourne market to the role, Smirnakos will specialise in residential development valuations. Formerly LandMark White’s Victorian state managing director, his move is part of JLL’s nationwide expansion of its teams, as part of its strategy to grow its Valuations and Advisory business. JLL said it will appoint an assistant valuer to support Smirnakos in his new role.And the Property Council of Australia is currently undertaking an extensive search for a new chief operating officer. Reporting to the newly appointed chief executive, the successful applicant will have an outstanding opportunity to help shape an already successful organisation as it moves into a new era of leadership on behalf of members.The chosen candidate will lead the business transformation and strategic management of the Property Council’s various national commercial business units (including conferences, awards, research, professional development and publications), as well as drive strategic and operational outcomes through the corporate services functions (information, knowledge and HR).For more information about the Property Council role, contact Athena Chintis ([email protected]).
