The Property Council has appointed an executive director in Victoria, while its ACT executive director is moving on and there is a new face in the national research team. The GBCA has a new advocacy specialist; Thomson Adsett has announced two senior appointments; and CBRE has expanded its Capital Markets division.
Sally Capp is to take up the position of Victorian executive director of the Property Council of Australia in September. Capp is currently chief operating officer of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has extensive experience in executive roles in government and business. She was formerly head of Markets, Victoria at KMPG; a member of the Victorian Tourism Industry Council board; Agent-General in London for the Government of Victoria; and CEO of the Committee for Melbourne.
In Canberra, ACT executive director Merlin Kong has announced that he will leave the Property Council to take up a leadership position with Community Services #1, a not-for-profit organisation based in Canberra.
And in the Property Council’s national office, Catherine Chan has joined the Research team as a research analyst. She previously worked at Preston Rowe Paterson overseeing all national research publications, blog articles and assisting commercial and residential valuers at the firm.
The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has appointed advocacy specialist Jonathan Cartledge to the role of senior manager – Industry and Government Relations. Cartledge joins the GBCA after six years with Consult Australia, most recently as director of Policy and Government Relations.
International design and architecture firm Thomson Adsett has appointed Louise Cox as its new chief operating officer, while Ann-Maree Ruffles will be the new group director – Seniors Living. Cox has more than 30 years experience at various firms in Brisbane including Chesterfield Group and Caxton Legal Centre and has served as a non-executive director on the board of Thomson Adsett since 2013. Ruffles is an architect with 30 years experience, including 20 years running her own business, Ann-Maree Ruffles Architect, where she designed luxury homes, multi-residential apartments and housing for disability.
CBRE has expanded its Capital Markets division with the appointment of Neva Courts as senior director of its Melbourne Institutional Investments team. Courts has 17 years property industry experience, most recently as DEXUS Property Group general manager, Capital Transactions.
Caet Young has been promoted to Marketing and Communications leader at design company Geyer. Young has been with Geyer for eight years in a marketing position. Vicki Heath has joined the company as Media and PR manager. She was previously national PR director at Southern Cross Austereo and national motorsport media manager at Ford Australia.
Commercial interior design company PDM International has sold PDM International ASIA, which operates in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, to JLL. The sale does not include the Australian and New Zealand operations, which were established in 2009 as an independent business headed up by managing director Rowan Hamman and directors Mark Turek and Greg Parsonson.
