People on the move – 22 September 2014The GBCA announces changes to its board of directors; two new associates are appointed at Buchan Group (Melbourne); Architectus takes on new senior staffers; and GHD South Australia appoints a new manager. The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has announced changes to its board of directors. Tanya Cox, independent director and GBCA board member since 2013, takes on the role of chair-elect from Grocon executive chairman and founding board member Daniel Grollo, who steps down in December 2014. Tarun Gupta, GBCA board member since 2013, will join Siobhan Toohill as a deputy chair. Gupta was appointed chief executive officer, Property, Australia at Lend Lease in October 2012, while Siobhan Toohill is head of Group Sustainability and Community at Westpac. Ken Morrison, chief executive of the Property Council, was also appointed to the GBCA board in August. The Buchan Group (Melbourne) has promoted two senior staff to the position of associate: project delivery and contract documentation specialist Clinton Jasmin, and senior designer Allen Lucini. Jasmin joined the Buchan Group in 2008 after stints in Ireland and South Africa, and has extensive experience in residential and mixed-use developments as well as sporting facilities. Among the projects on which he’s worked are the Burnside Village development, Burwood One Shopping Centre, and a mixed-use residential and retail development in North Melbourne. Lucini joined Buchan Group in 2011 after working on retail, mixed-use and residential projects in South Africa and the UK. A specialist in master planning and concept design and development, his projects include the Eastland Shopping Centre expansion, Marco Melbourne residential development, Emporium Melbourne and Pacific Werribee. Architect firm Architectus has announced the appointment of two senior team members to its Sydney studio. Luke Johnson and Nigel Justins will assist in the delivery of Architectus’ projects in the tertiary, education and transport infrastructure sectors, in particular. Johnson has 20 years’ professional experience and, prior to joining Architectus, led several large projects as a principal at HASSELL’s Sydney studio. Justins has 25 years’ architectural experience and has previously held senior leadership positions at DesignInc, HBO+EMTB, and GHD Woodhead. In South Australia, engineering and construction services company GHD has appointed Van Tang as manager. An experienced civil engineer, Tang has been with the company’s aviation team since 2006, during which time he has developed strategic client relationships and technical leadership and has delivered major projects for private and public sector clients. In his new role, Tang will lead GHD’s consulting operations across a broad range of disciplines.
