The Property Council has made several new appointments at national and state level; Dick Warburton to retire from Scentre Group board; new partner at LJ Hooker Commercial Silverwater; Woods Bagot nabs architecture veteran; Geyer appoints Melbourne studio leader.
Francesca Muskovic has joined the Property Council as its new policy manager – Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs. She has worked extensively across the public and private sectors with organisations including the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, the Green Building Council of Australia, and AECOM. Muskovic will work closely with the Property Council Sustainability, Risk and Regulation Review Roundtables.
In the Property Council’s NSW office, Jane Fitzgerald has been appointed as NSW executive director. Fitzgerald has extensive government experience, most recently as the CEO of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption and as an assistant secretary in the Federal Attorney General’s Department, deputy director general in the NSW Ministry for Police and as chief of staff to two NSW ministers. Fitzgerald replaces Glenn Byres following his recent appointment as the Property Council’s chief of Policy and Housing.
In other news from the Property Council, Louise Mason (pictured), AMP Capital’s chief operating officer, is the new NSW President. She takes over from David Rolls, Mirvac’s head of Cities and Urban Renewal, who has held the position for three years.
Dick Warburton has announced that he will not seek re-election as an independent director at Scentre Group’s AGM in May and will retire at the conclusion of the meeting. Warburton joined the Westfield Retail Trust as chairman in 2010 and oversaw the merger of Westfield Retail Trust with Westfield’s Australian and New Zealand businesses and the creation of Scentre Group in 2014.
Industrial and business park specialist Peter Hanzis has returned to LJ Hooker Commercial Silverwater in Western Sydney as a partner. Hanzis started his career at LJ Hooker in 1997 and has since worked at JLL and Knight Frank Australia.
Architecture firm Woods Bagot has appointed Neil Hill as Design director in its Sydney studio. Hill has more than 25 years experience and was previously with PTW.
Nik Dennis will join Savills Australia’s Melbourne Office Leasing division as an associate director. He was previously a director of Residential Leasing in Savills’ London office.
Kathryn Taylor has taken on the role of Melbourne studio leader at design company Geyer. Taylor has 18 years of design experience in retail and hospitality projects.
Colliers International has welcomed Julian Mero to its Victorian retail leasing team in the position of executive – Project Leasing, based in the Melbourne CBD office.
