People on the Move – 21 July 2015New global appointments at Aurecon; WGE expands its civil section; new real estate management team at Colliers; climate change expert joins DibbsBarker as partner; m3property appoints new directors.Aurecon has appointed Dr Kourosh Kayvani (pictured) as global director, Excellence and Expertise. With a career spanning over 25 years, Dr Kayvani has played key roles in the design and delivery of many award-winning projects around the world including Wembley Stadium in London, Sydney Olympics Hockey Stadium in Sydney and Liberty Place tower in Sydney. Dr Kayvani is a Laureate of the IABSE Prize awarded by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering for his contribution to design of long span structures. He is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney, a Visiting Professorial Fellow at UNSW and a Director of Australian Steel Institute.Also at Aurecon John McGuire has been appointed as chief innovation officer. McGuire has over 25 years of experience in consulting and contracting in Australia, the Middle East and the United Kingdom. He has been involved in a wide range of projects, including the Fiona Stanley Hospital in Western Australia, Austin Repat Mercy Redevelopment in Victoria and the Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand.Wood & Grieve Engineers’ (WGE) Civil Section in Sydney has been expanded with the addition of Ian Harris, Civil Section manager. Harris has 14 years of experience in land development and the design of road, drainage, bulk earthworks and general civil design. There are now 70 people in WGE’s civil engineering team.Colliers International has a new real estate management leadership team in Victoria. Lisa Trigg has been appointed as state product director for Real Estate Management in Victoria, working alongside Paula Gorman as director. Trigg was previously an associate director in Colliers’ Real Estate Management team in Sydney and has also held senior management positions with JLL, Mirvac and Brookfield Multiplex. In more than 13 years with Colliers, Gorman has worked for major clients and corporate services both in Melbourne and New York and currently manages a portfolio for institutions and private investors. Also at Colliers, Tom Green has joined the National Capital Markets team as associate director, based in the Sydney CBD office. Green has spent the last five years at Lendlease in various roles across the Investment Management division, and most recently he was the Senior Fund Analyst for Lendlease’s unlisted wholesale office vehicle, Australian Prime Property Fund (APPF Commercial).DibbsBarker has appointed Mark Baker-Jones as a new partner. Barker-Jones is a planning and environmental law specialist with expertise in climate change adaptation. He joins DibbsBarker from DLA Piper, where he acted as lead planning and environment lawyer for clients across the east coast of Australia.Laila Burnet and Trent Preece in Melbourne and Jarrod Morgan in Sydney have been promoted to director at m3property. Burnet has been with m3property since 2011 and has been instrumental in the development and expansion of the Health, Aged Care and Seniors Living division. Preece joined m3property in 2013 and has been a contributor to the ongoing development and expansion of the commercial division. Morgan has extensive experience in the residential development sector particularly in medium and high density projects around metropolitan Sydney.
