People on the move – 21 April 2015Michael Cameron steps down as CEO of The GPT Group; Norman Disney & Young announces a management restructure; Colliers International makes changes to its Retail Leasing team; and WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff appoints Sean Treweek to its Building Services team.Michael Cameron will relinquish his position as CEO and managing director of The GPT Group (GPT) after six years to take on the role of Group CEO and managing director of Suncorp.Cameron, who has been on the Suncorp board for the past three years, will take up his new role in October 2015. His appointment is the culmination of a succession plan at Suncorp, where he will succeed Patrick Snowball who plans to return to the UK in October. GPT group chairman Rob Ferguson said Cameron stabilised GPT at a difficult time and positioned the Group well for future growth.”In his six years, Cameron has demonstrated outstanding leadership and added great value for GPT security holders,” he said. “We thank Cameron for his invaluable contribution and we wish him every success; he leaves the Group with the goodwill of the Board, stakeholders and employees.”Norman Disney & Young (NDY) has announced that several staff members have been promoted to senior manager positions. Sam Aloi has been promoted from Melbourne office manager to the role of Australian regional director, which means he will oversee the strategic direction and operations of NDY’s eight Australian offices.Fellow director and Perth office manager Alan Edler has been appointed as a second Australian representative on the NDY group Executive.In NDY’s Sydney office, Tim Spies will take on the role of office manager, having occupied the same role at NDY’s Manchester office. Spies will replace Campbell Williams who will continue to work in a strategic capacity in the Sydney office, but who has plans to relocate to Queensland eventually.In other appointments, NDY board member Patrick Fogarty becomes director, Clients & Strategy, and George Balales will take on the newly created role of director, Engineering & Operations.Colliers International has appointed Bernard Canning as manager of its Victorian retail leasing team. He will help drive Colliers International’s suburban shopping centre projects and managements in Victoria.Cam Taranto has been appointed senior executive of Colliers International’s Melbourne CBD retail leasing team. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has appointed Sean Treweek to the role of building services director, Australia New Zealand. Treweek has two decades’ experience across the building services industry and is currently a principal with the firm.Andrew Mather, managing director, Property, Environment & Resources and vice president Asia Pacific, said Treweek will help the company capitalise on new opportunities for Building Services.
