People on the Move – 20 September 2016Green Building Council of Australia appoints Michael Manikas as head of industry development; urban design expert Joshua Hinwood joins SMEC; and Public Transport Victoria has a new CEO – Jeroen Weimar. Former chief executive of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Michael Manikas, has been appointed head of industry development at the Green Building Council of Australia. Manikas has held roles with Turner & Townsend, Australand, Built, Mirvac and was the long-time associate director at Davis Langdon.Professional services company SMEC has a new urban design and landscape architecture principal – Joshua Hinwood. With experience on signature Queensland projects including the Southport Broadwater Parklands, Cross River Rail and Moreton Bay Rail Link, Hinwood will expand SMEC’s offering in to urban waterfronts and integrated public transport precincts.Jeroen Weimar has been appointed chief executive officer of Public Transport Victoria, and will lead the organisation as it continues to deliver the Andrews Government’s major infrastructure projects including the Metro Tunnel. Weimar has been acting CEO since January, and was previously the organisation’s executive director in charge of performance and contract management.
