People on the move – 20 October 2014CBRE Group appoints Richard Kirke to capital markets role in the Asia-Pacific; JLL appoints leading research strategist Carol Hodgson; and DEXUS appoints two new senior managers, Paul Oates and Andrew Whiteside.Richard Kirke has been appointed to the newly created role of managing director of capital markets, Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. He will be responsible for CBRE’s APAC capital markets, capital advisers and hotels businesses.Kirke began his career at CBRE in New Zealand, where he was managing director of the company’s North Shore Auckland office.Most recently, he was managing director of Colliers in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the sale, in 2012, of the newly built and partially let Connaught Road to Agricultural Bank of China for US$632 million.Kirke will take up his new role in the first quarter of 2015.JLL has appointed Carol Hodgson as director of strategic research and Queensland head of research. Working with the national research team, she will develop JLL’s profile by providing information, analysis and thought leadership across all of the company’s business units.Hodgson has 10 years’ experience leading global companies in real estate analysis and research strategy in London. She was the head of European investment research and strategy for GE Capital Real Estate and, most recently, a research strategist for Property and Portfolio Research (PPR).DEXUS Property Group has announced two appointments to its senior management ranks.Paul Oates will join DEXUS as the new group general manager of development. Oates is currently at Woolworths Limited, where he oversees the retail and non-retail property development team. He will be responsible for the overall operations of DEXUS’ $3.3-billion development business when he takes on his new role in December 2014.Andrew Whiteside, the current group general manager of developments at DEXUS, has been appointed to the new role of group general manager, new business – office and industrial development. He will be tasked with identifying and packaging new office and industrial development opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, delivering on annual trading profit targets and overseeing end-to-end industrial development.
