Urbis employs Richard Gibbs, Macquarie Group’s former global head of economics, Architectus makes four new key appointments and Scott Gregg joins the executive of Landcom.
Urbis has a new economics and social advisory director, Richard Gibbs (pictured). The former director and global head of economics at Macquarie Group, Gibbs played an integral role in the organisation’s international expansion and growth over a tenure of 21 years.
Design and planning practice Architectus has made four new key appointments. Lynne Hancock has been appointed senior associate. Hancock, who previously established and led the urban design and landscape business for Beca Group for a decade, was recently appointed to the pilot NSW State Design Review Panel. Lisa Thornton takes on the new position of group business development and submissions manager after stints at The Nous Group and PwC.
Meanwhile, Architectus’ Melbourne studio welcomes senior associate Brett Simmonds and associate Paul Trinchi. Simmonds, who moves over from Woods Bagot, led several noteworthy projects including the Plenary office fitout in Melbourne and NAB fitout in Brisbane. Trinchi, previously at Cox Architecture, has worked predominantly with education and rail projects.
Scott Gregg has recently joined the executive of the NSW Government’s Landcom to drive the strategic direction of housing, partnerships and leadership. Gregg was appointed program director in October 2017, following roles with UrbanGrowth and Place Leaders Australia Pacific.
