People on the move – 2 March 2015Rider Levett Bucknall appoints Matthew Harris as managing director, NSW; CBRE hires Brendan Shipp to its South Sydney team; Norton Rose Fulbright bolsters its Perth office; and John Quinlan is appointed director at Chesterton International.Matthew Harris has been appointed Rider Levett Bucknall’s managing director, NSW. He will take over from Bob Richardson, who is retiring after 29 years’ service with the group and 10 years as managing director.Harris was the youngest director at Rider Levett Bucknall when he was appointed to the position in 2002 at the age of 30. He has substantial experience providing professional consultancy services to the construction industry and has played a role in Rider Levett Bucknall’s success in the infrastructure industry. He helped to secure key commissions such as the South West Rail Link, the $11-billion WestConnex project and, recently, the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing and Sydney Light Rail projects.Brendan Shipp has been appointed to assist CBRE’s Office Services and Metropolitan Investment Properties teams in South Sydney and the city fringe. He joins CBRE from Knight Frank with more than nine years’ office leasing and sales experience.Peter Flint, CBRE’s head of Office Services, NSW and ACT, said Shipp will enhance the firm’s client service offering in both the South Sydney and city fringe markets, both of which are showing strong activity as tenants seek out well-priced space with the convenience of strong transport links.In Perth, legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that Andrea Rezos will join as a partner. Her arrival follows the hiring of insurance litigator Jehan-Philippe (JP) Wood from the firm’s London office.Rezos has experience advising Australian and international institutions on large-scale property developments, joint ventures and development management agreements.Wood joined Norton Rose Fulbright’s London office in June 2013, having previously worked for the firm’s US combination partner Fulbright & Jaworski and several other law firms.In Brisbane, Chesterton International has appointed John Quinlan as director – Retail Property Management. Quinlan was previously with Knight Frank in Brisbane and Townsville. He was the inaugural chair of the Townsville chapter of the Property Council, which he helped to establish.
