People on the Move – 18 August 2015New leadership at Shopping Centre Council; management changes at Australand; LandCorp appoints COO; Peddle Thorp welcomes new CEO; Knight Frank grows its team; DTZ lands South Sydney industrial expert; and a promotion at Glascott Landscape & Civil.Peter Allen, chief executive officer of Scentre Group, has been elected as the new chairman of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia.Susan MacDonald, head of Retail, Mirvac, and John Schroder, group executive and CEO Commercial, Stockland, have been elected as deputy chairs.Allen takes over as chairman following the resignation of Steven Sewell, the former CEO of Federation Centres, who has been the chairman since May 2011. MacDonald and Schroder replace Michael Gorman, the former deputy CEO and chief investment officer of Novion Property Group, who has resigned as deputy chairman.Australand has announced several senior management changes following the recent departure of former CEO Bob Johnston and the elevation of Rod Fehring to CEO. Anthony Boyd takes over Fehring’s previous role as executive general manager – Residential. Reini Otter has been appointed executive general manager – Commercial & Industrial, taking over from Sean McMahon who will fill the newly created role of chief investment officer.Dean Mudford, vice president of the Property Council in Western Australia, has been appointed as chief operations officer for LandCorp, the WA Government’s development agency. Mudford previously held positions at Mirvac WA, Stockland and Caversham Property.Brett Hudson is the new CEO of Queensland architectural firm Peddle Thorp. Hudson will lead a staff of 35 based in offices in Brisbane and Cairns, which is part of a network of companies that includes Peddle Thorp Architects in PNG, Melbourne, Auckland, Shanghai, PTW in Sydney and PTI in Jakarta. He has held senior positions at Peddle Thorp for more than 20 years and has led the recently completed design of the PNG Waigani National Courts Complex. David Porgand and Peter Gardiner, directors and owners of Peddle Thorp, have taken up senior executive roles reporting to the CEO.Jonathan Kearins has joined Knight Frank Australia’s Global Corporate Solutions team as an associate director. Kearins has worked in Office Leasing at Savills for the past eight years after working at Laing and Simmons Commercial.Tim Cassidy has been appointed as the NSW head of Industrial at DTZ. He joins DTZ from JLL and was previously a managing director of Knight Frank’s South Sydney office.Matthew Bourke has been promoted to the position of general manager at landscape construction company Glascott Landscape & Civil. Bourke has been with Glascott since its inception in 1989 and was previously national construction manager and an advisory board member.
