People on the move – 16 March 2015Cushman & Wakefield appoints David Scott and Billy Dent to Agency Services; David Lyons joins DTZ as Metro Sales director; Amicus Interiors welcomes Matthew Wien as business development manager; and Emanuel Confos returns to Norton Rose Fulbright. Cushman & Wakefield’s expansion into Australia gathers momentum this year with the firm’s Capital Markets team continuing to grow with two new appointments. David Scott formerly with Colliers International, has joined the company as director of Agency Services, while Billy Dent from Shead Property has also come on board to boost that division.Scott’s property experience includes nearly five years at Colliers and several running his own Surry Hills real estate firm. His focus will be sales and leasing in fringe markets, including South Sydney, and investigating new markets and CBD opportunities.Dent previously worked in commercial sales and leasing at Shead Property, principally on Sydney’s North Shore; he also has residential property experience.DTZ has appointed industry veteran David Lyons as director of Metro Sales for NSW, with the goal of building the industry’s platform in the state. Lyons, who joins DTZ following the recent announcement of the firm’s new Asia-Pacific and Australia and New Zealand leadership team, has more than 40 years’ experience in commercial real estate in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, including sales, leasing and property management leadership roles across multiple property sectors.He comes to DTZ from JLL, where he was regional director of Capital Markets in the Asia-Pacific and country head for Vietnam. Fit-out company Amicus Interiors recently welcomed Matthew Wien as business development manager for NSW. Wien brings more than eight years’ international experience as a sales director in the building product and design industry to the role, which will entail generating new business across various sectors, including commercial fit-outs, facilities management and furniture sales.Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has bolstered its construction and engineering division with the return of construction and engineering lawyer and former partner in the Sydney office, Emanuel Confos, as senior partner.Confos returns from his most recent position as head of Construction at law firm Gilbert+Tobin. His extensive experience acting for clients on complex large-scale construction litigation includes advising Brookfield Multiplex in a victorious 2014 High Court case, a landmark decision for the construction industry. He will advise on all aspects of construction law.Norton Rose Fulbright in Australia has added 13 new partners since January 2014, including 10 lateral appointments.
