Lendlease continues leadership team shake-up; QIC lures retail chief from Myer; Robin Mellon takes on new role; Goldman Sachs replaces head of Real Estate Investment; founding partner departs Quadrant; Woods Bagot opens studios in New Zealand and Malaysia.
Kylie Rampa will take on the role of chief executive property at Lendlease from the beginning of May, heading up its global leadership team and local property business. She replaces Tarun Gupta who, as reported in Property Australia in February, will move into the role of chief financial officer. Josh McHutchison will take over Rampa’s previous role as investment management head after acting as chief operating officer property for more than two years.
Megan Foster has been appointed as QIC’s Global Real Estate Division’s general manager – Retail. Foster has more than 25 years experience in retail including group general management position at Myer, where she ran its marketing, brand and store development. She was also an executive director and managing director of sass & bide, following Myer’s acquisition of that business. Prior to joining Myer, Foster held senior sales and marketing roles including 10 years at Unilever, before working for several years as a consultant to Woolworths and other companies.
Robin Mellon, former chief operating officer with the Green Building Council of Australia, has been appointed CEO of the Supply Chain Sustainability School. The school was launched in March 2015 and aims to increase supplier engagement on sustainability within the property, construction and infrastructure industries.
It has been reported that Adrian Sheldon will replace Simon Wheatley as head of Real Estate Investment at Goldman Sachs. Sheldon was previously managing director and head of Real Estate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch after a stint at UBS for 10 years.
CBRE has appointed Michael Hall as the new leader of the firm’s South Australian Asset Services business. Hall has 15 years of finance and property industry experience in Australia and Canada. He joined CBRE’s South Australian business in mid-2014 after two years at JLL managing the Grenfell Centre. Hall replaces Garrath Holdstock, who is relocating to Melbourne to head up CBRE’s Victorian Asset Services business.
New owner of Transgrid, NSW Electricity Networks, has appointed Paul Italiano as the new CEO. He will replace Peter McIntyre in mid-2016 and in the interim Ian Stirling will act as CEO. Italiano was previously CEO of Western Power in WA for four years.
Founding partner Michael Wood has announced his departure from Quadrant Real Estate Advisors after more than 10 years at the investment management company.
Savills Australia has added to its Victorian office leasing team with the appointment of Kizzy Okoukoni as associate director. He has experience in commercial leasing and sale in the UK and Cape Verde before moving to Australia and working with Dixon Kestles in Melbourne.
Darren Busviah has joined the Property Council as Digital Content publisher and designer, supporting the national conferences team.
Designer Woods Bagot is setting up new design studios in Auckland and Kuala Lumpur as part of its expansion plans. The studios will be managed by director of Development in South East Asia Matthew Gaal in Malaysia and design leader and studio chair Gavin Kain in New Zealand.
