Life membership for Property Council NT stalwart; WA Executive Director Joe Lenzo to retire in 2016; Savills names new WA managing director; and CBRE expands its national Office Services division.

The Property Council of Australia has awarded its first-ever Northern Territory Life Membership to current vice president and former NT executive director Trevor Dalton. The award recognises outstanding leadership and committed service to the Property Council and the profession over many years.

In 1994, shortly after returning to Darwin from four years in Hong Kong and Beijing, Dalton was instrumental in the formation of an NT division of the Property Council (then known as BOMA). When the division was established the following year, he was elected honorary secretary and was later appointed as the inaugural executive director. On resigning from this role in 2007 to become the inaugural general manager of the Territory Government’s Land Development Corporation, he was invited back onto council and has served as Vice President since that time.

In other Property Council news, long-serving WA executive director Joe Lenzo has announced that he will retire in March next year after 15 years in the role. “This industry has made such a positive and remarkable contribution to the state’s built environment and in recent years has delivered the projects that have transformed Perth into one of the most vibrant and liveable cities in the world,” Lenzo said. “It has been a privilege working with so many talented and passionate West Australians in both the private and public arena.”  The Property Council will undertake a recruitment process to replace Lenzo in the new year.

Graham Postma has been promoted to managing director WA at Savills, replacing Paul Craig, who will move into the role as chief executive officer of Savills Australia and New Zealand, a position currently held by Paul McLean. Postma is currently the director of Office Leasing in WA.

At Savills Australia, Jesse Radisich has been promoted to associate director with a focus on CBD and metropolitan development sites, retail and commercial assets. Radisich has been with Savills since 2011.

CBRE has expanded its national Office Services division with the appointment of John Hickey and Mark Lacey in the newly created roles of regional directors – joint heads of Major Projects Australia. Hickey was formerly international director and head of Office Leasing for Australia and New Zealand at Cushman & Wakefield. Lacey joins CBRE from Colliers International where he was national director of Office Leasing.
