People on the move – 14 July 2014BVN Donovan Hill recognises the key role played by women in architecture in its latest round of appointments; Centuria Capital hires a new head of transactions; and Colliers International expands its greater Dandenong services.Among the 16 new appointments at BVN Donovan Hill, those taking on national positions are Kevin Murphy, who has been promoted to senior practice director, Operations; Chris Tate, who assumes the role of practice director, Information and Design Technology; and Mitchell Medway, who takes on the role of design technology leader.In addition, there are seven women among the new appointments.In Sydney, Sarah Embling has been appointed a senior associate, while Kim Small, Catherine Skinner, Elena Bonanni, Katherine Wiedershen and Rose Emerton join Kevin McLennan in being appointed as associates.In the Brisbane office, Hayley Sainsbury has been made senior associate, while Glenn Bliesner, Nick Flutter and Paolo Frigenti have been made associates.BVN Donovan Hill said the appointment of this number of women reflects the changing gender balance that is evident in architecture as more women rise through the profession.At Centuria Capital, Hadyn Stephens has been appointed new head of transactions in what will be an expanded role. Stephens will work in conjunction with Centuria’s senior executive team to formulate and manage its property transactions. In addition, he will analyse potential corporate activity and have oversight of the group’s acquisitions team.Stephens comes to the role having held senior positions at Stockland, GPT, LaSalle Investment Management and Merrill Lynch. He has primarily been engaged in corporate transactions, capital transactions and the raising of both debt and equity.Meanwhile, Colliers International has added to its South-East industrial team by appointing Luke Jesson to the role of senior executive. Based out of Colliers International’s Melbourne East office in Clayton, the South-East industrial team services Melbourne’s fast-growing eastern industrial property sector.Jesson has more than seven years’ experience with Savills in both Brisbane and Melbourne and will work with Justin Fried and Paul Jones to service the company’s growing client base in the greater Dandenong region.
