Legal firm Thomson Geer has appointed property specialist Sarah Rizk, Georgia Beattie has joined REA Group and MSG Architects welcomes associate Elliet Spring into the fold.

Thomson Geer has appointed a new Melbourne-based property partner, Sarah Rizk, who promises to bolster the firm’s property and leasing capabilities. Rizk has recently acted for the developer of one of the largest broad acre developments in Australia, comprising more than 7,000 dwellings, schools, shopping centres and community facilities.

REA Group has appointed ex Startup Victoria CEO Georgia Beattie as executive manager of Spacely, a new property website that offers shared work and short-term commercial spaces for events, retail, meeting rooms and creative spaces. According to REA Group, Spacely is already Australia’s listings top site for flexible workspace and short-term commercial space.

MGS Architects has appointed a new associate. Elliet Spring is an urban designer and has worked on projects in Australia, the USA and Norway. Among Spring’s work are large-scale masterplans for the Arrival Precinct at La Trobe University’s Melbourne Campus, redevelopments at Docklands, a former quarry site in Lilydale, and a large retirement community in Blackburn.

Knight Frank has expanded its national project management and building consultancy team as new director Matthew Willicombe joins the firm’s Sydney office. Most recently, Willicombe managed the delivery of a multi-million-dollar collaborative workspace project for WeWork. Prior to this, he led the national design and construction team for Nando’s, and delivered nearly 100 restaurants across Australia.
