Aurecon bolsters its transport planning team. Former chief of the Planning Institute of Australia, Kirsty Kelly, joins IESANZ – The Lighting Society. And infrastructure specialist Pensar appoints Michael Bissett as general manager.

Aurecon has bolstered its transport planning team with the appointment of four specialists. Sam Linke (pictured) joins the company as transport planning leader in Melbourne. A former transport consultant at Jacobs, Linke consulted on projects such as the Forrestfield-Airport Link and the Cranbourne to Pakenham Line rail corridor upgrade. She will now lead the operational modelling for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project, as part of a joint venture between Aurecon, Jacobs, and Mott MacDonald.

Meanwhile, Anthony Simmons joins Aurecon’s Queensland team as transport planning leader, having worked on several notable light rail projects in Gold Coast, Perth and Houston. Ian McCarthy takes on the role of transport planning leader in NSW. McCarthy was previously the senior manager of the network development team at Roads and Maritime Services. Adam Reynolds joins the Perth team as senior traffic engineer after a stint with BG & E Consulting Engineers. And Hoa Nguyen has been appointed to lead Aurecon’s intelligent transport systems operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Kirsty Kelly, former chief of the Planning Institute of Australia, has been appointed chief executive officer of IESANZ – The Lighting Society. Kelly will continue to work as a consultant and advisor to support associations and non-profit organisations with strategy, management, policy and advocacy.

Brisbane-based infrastructure group Pensar has opened a new regional office on the Sunshine Coast, to be headed by Michael Bissett as general manager. Bissett was previously the chief operating officer with Hall Contracting, Australia’s largest privately-owned dredging, civil and marine construction company.

Michael Kilgariff is stepping down from the top job at the Australian Logistics Council at the end of July. Kilgariff, who has been managing director with the association since 2009, is moving to another major industry association.

Architecture firm SJB has a new associate in Melbourne. Kurt Boledziuk has been with SJB for three years, working on residential, hospitality and commercial projects across Australia.

CBRE has appointed Micheal Fenton to a retail investments negotiator role in South Australia. Fenton joins CBRE after seven years in property finance at St George Bank, where he managed a diversified property portfolio for a range of private and institutional clients.
