People on the Move – 13 December 2017

Adele Eagleton joins Savills as a new director of project management, while Savills appoints a new strategic real estate services team. Architectus gains three new principals and Geyer appoints a new education leader.

Savills Australia has appointed Adele Eagleton (pictured) as its new director of project management in New South Wales. Eagleton joins Savills after five years as a director with Jacobs Australia, leading projects worth more than $2.5 billion across Australia. She was also a former general manager with Lendlease.

Savills has also appointed Stephanie Ballango as associate director of advisory within its project management division. Ballango has worked on the Parramatta Road corridor urban transformation strategy, Sydney Fish Market, Barangaroo and Royal North Shore Hospital.

In other news, Savills Australia has appointed a new strategic real estate services team based in Sydney. Hugh Halpin, Ben Adler, Kristiaan Letsch and Smita Sundarjee previously worked with Property NSW providing advice and developing property solutions for state government departments. Halpin will lead the team.

Clayton Utz has two new partners with specialisation in property and construction. Alison Kennedy joined the Clayton Utz real estate team in Melbourne in 2004, and her practice spans a broad range of property-related matters, from project development and structuring to property acquisitions and disposals, leasing and general property advisory work. Andrew Fry is now a partner in Clayton Utz’ major projects and construction team in Melbourne, and offers unique solutions to the complex issues that arise in procuring and delivering major infrastructure projects.

Michael Taggart has been appointed director of technology solutions for JLL Australia. Prior to joining JLL Australia, Taggart held roles at JLL Americas and BRG in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley for seven years.  JLL’s newly-formed technology solutions group was established in 2016 through an acquisition of BRG, a provider of workplace solutions.

Architectus has three new principals and shareholders: Jane Freeman, Greg Burgon and Jeremy Deale. Freeman and Burgon have helped build Architectus’ urban design and planning team, and Deale has worked with Architectus since 2012 on projects such as Brookfield Office Properties, Wynyard Place and the new Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences building at the University of Sydney.

Architectus also welcomes Kathryn Bonning to the newly-created role of people and culture manager. Bonning has previously worked with King and Wood Mallesons, Thomson Geer and KordaMentha. In addition, Marina Carroll, Madeleine Joyce and Rosemary Burne have been promoted to senior associate.

Nolita Ní Riain joins Geyer as its education leader. Ní Riain was principal and Sydney practice leader at Bickerton Masters Architecture. She has also worked with Jacobs Australia and Sinclair Knight Merz. Ní Riain currently co-chairs NAWIC’s NSW chapter education committee.
