CBRE has established a new capital markets healthcare and retirement living division, new appointments strengthen JLL’s research capabilities while Savills has a new managing director for its local project management business.
Three healthcare and retirement living professionals have joined CBRE to form a new capital markets healthcare and retirement living division. The specialist team will be led by Philip Smith, based in Brisbane, in a national director role. Smith has led Colliers International’s healthcare and retirement living division for almost six years. Shane Nicholson (pictured) assumes a director role in Sydney, while George Koumoukelis has been appointed senior negotiator in the Sydney office. Both were also with Colliers.
In other news, Ian Thomas will commence with CBRE as director of capital markets in South Australia after 11 years with Colliers International. And Matt Szakiel and Charlotte McCann join CBRE’s Victorian office in the positions of senior negotiator and negotiator, respectively.
JLL has appointed Andrew Ballantyne as head of research in Australia. Former head of research, Dr David Rees, moves into the role of regional director for research strategy and will focus on integrating JLL’s research capabilities across the Asia Pacific. Ballantyne currently provides specialist investment analysis for JLL’s national capital markets business, and will continue to focus on capital markets while leading a team of 24 researchers across Australia.
Savills has appointed former AMP Capital Head of Development, Gavin Boswarva, as managing director of its Australia and New Zealand project management business. Boswarva spent a decade at AMP Capital in senior property roles, recently leading the successful $440 million redevelopment of the Macquarie Shopping Centre.
Savills also continues to expand its CBD industrial team with the appointment of Joseph Brzezek to an executive role across the sales and leasing divisions.
