People on the Move – 12 July 2016

There has been ‘movement at the station’ in the architecture and design sector recently with announcements from Group GSA, CHC, SPH and BVN. And in the agency sector Savills has appointed a new managing director in Victoria.

Peter McCamley has joined Group GSA Interiors as national/global principal for Interiors. McCamley has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry including positions as CEO/director and executive director Global Business Growth at Geyer, as well as serving on the Geyer board.

Founding partner of architecture firm Clarke Hopkins Clarke (CHC), Les Clarke, has retired after 56 years with the practice and will be replaced by two new partners. Since the founding of the firm in 1960, Clarke has delivered many projects across Melbourne and Victoria, firstly in the education and residential sectors and later in retail and mixed use projects. The two partners appointed are architects Jordan Curran and Simon LeNepveu, who have been promoted from associates.

SPH architecture + interiors has appointed Ali Devellerez as a new director of the firm. Ali joins founding directors Ian Scott, Jamie Penn and David Hall as the studio’s first female director. Devellerez has been a senior architect and health planner with SHP since January 2015 and was formerly project manager – Organisational Change & Redesign at the WA Department of Health and a director of ARCHadia Architects.

Architecture practice BVN has announced 25 promotions to senior positions in the firm. The senior practice directors are: Terry Braddock, Brian Clohessy, Leny Lembo, Susanne Mayer, Glen Millar, Domino Risch, Ross Seymour and Peter Titmuss, and Ali Bounds, Sally Johnson and Catherine Skinner, Barry Dineen and Asher Galvin have been promoted to practice directors. BVN has also appointed four senior associates and eight associates. The senior associates are Tim Crawshaw, Kirstie Irwin, Kim Small and Stuart Young while the newest associates are Isabell Beck, Chris Bickerton, Jan Christel, Jamie Don, Alastair Flynn, Tim Gibson, Neil Haybittel and Juan Salazar.

Jason Kougellis is the new managing director of Savills Victoria. Kougellis spent 15 years at GE Capital Real Estate where he was managing director – Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. His previous roles were at Fosun International Ltd, Paladin Funds Management, GIO Asset Management and in CBA’s Property Valuation Services.
