AIA appoints new CEO; CBRE promotes Queensland leaders; Hannan makes his next move; Sydney lures JLL Hong Kong executive; Frasers appoint brand ambassador in WA; Colliers expands in Sydney and Adelaide; and Savills adds to retail team.

Jennifer Cunich is moving on after 20 years with the Property Council of Australia – six as ACT executive director and 14 as Victorian executive director. She will take up the position as CEO of the Australian Institute of Architects in May.

“My time spent at the Property Council of Australia showed me the enormous value of design in terms of buildings, precincts, communities and cities,” says Cunich. “Taking up the position of CEO at the Australian Institute of Architects provides an opportunity to place inspirational design at the centre of a national conversation about innovation, creativity and problem-solving.”

CBRE has announced two promotions within its leadership team in Queensland. Flint Davidson has been promoted from head of agency to managing director – Brisbane and Jonathon O’Brien has been appointed as executive director – Queensland Regional Markets. Davidson has been with CBRE for 19 years. O’Brien, who has been with CBRE for 20 years, will take on this new role in addition to his Gold Coast responsibilities.

Jonathan Hannan, former head of Capital at Mirvac, has joined forces with former Aura Funds Management founder Avid Naudu, to launch Real Tech, a fund managed by their recently formed company Taronga Group, to invest in real estate related innovation and technology companies.

Linda Ko has moved from JLL Hong Kong to take up the role as senior manager of Office Leasing in JLL’s NSW office. Ko has seven years experience in commercial leasing and tenant representation. She joined JLL Hong Kong in 2009 as a graduate trainee and, after a six-month international transfer to Sydney in 2015, decided to make the permanent move to Australia.

Frasers Property has appointed Fremantle Football Club player and president of the AFL Players’ Association Matthew Pavlich as its brand ambassador in Western Australia.

Colliers International has been building up its North Sydney team with several recent appointments. Scott Smith has been appointed as Retail Leasing executive covering North Sydney, Mosman and Crows Nest. He was previously with Stone Property. Emma Vadas, formerly dealing with high-end residential sales at Greencliff Realty, has joined the Investment Services team as an executive. Blake Harvey, formerly of Stone Property, has also joined the Investment Services team, focusing on sales in the Northern Beaches. Angie Carroll has been appointed to Office Leasing in Sydney’s north, focusing on North Ryde and Macquarie Park.

In Adelaide, Paul Duldig has joined Colliers as an associate director of Real Estate Management, Rob Alvaro has been appointed as senior property/project manager. Nadia Nuzzo and Johannes Van-Reesema have also joined the Colliers Adelaide team as property manager and assistant property manager.

Tom Forrest has taken up the position of associate director in Savills Retail Investments team in Victoria. Forrest has more than 13 years experience in valuations, acquisitions and disposals including nine years as manager of property transactions with Vicinity Centres.
