Parramatta Light Rail first steps

The first step in the delivery of the Parramatta Light Rail project commenced with up to 0 experts gathering in Western Sydney for an industry briefing. Prospective planners and companies were provided with details of how they could contribute to the major project.

Parramatta Light Rail will connect Parramatta, Westmead, OIympic Park, Carlingford, Camellia and Strathfield with about 20 kilometres of light rail, transforming Sydney’s second CBD. It will provide links to precincts such as Westmead Hospital, The University of Western Sydney, Parramatta CBD, the Olympic sporting hub and Strathfield.

Consultation on the exact route is to occur later this year, involving public input.  Construction is hoped to begin in late 2018 or early 2019.

The Property Council has long supported a light rail network centred on Parramatta. It will provide a boost for jobs, housing and mobility.
