Open for Consultation
A number of infrastructure initiatives around Queensland are open for consultation.
The new Street Design Manual: Walkable Neighbourhoods and the Port of Townsville master plan overlay are open for feedback.
Street Design Manual
The IPWEAQ has released their draft Street Design Manual: Walkable Neighbourhoods.
The manual will be open for broad consultation until 20 December.
Walkable Neighbourhoods is a modern guide for developing Queensland’s towns and cities.
It can be useful for developers, engineers, designers, stakeholders and decision makers.
The new manual has been designed to align with important state policy developments such as: State Planning Policy, Regional Plans, the Model Code for Neighbourhood Design, Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) and increases in greenfield development densities.
Further information on the manual can be found here.
Port of Townsville Overlay
The draft overlay for the Port of Townsville will be available for consultation until 16 December 2019.
The overlay identifies the regulatory requirements to ensure the development of the priority Port of Townsville is consistent with the vision established in the master plan.
You can find the finalised master plan and relevant consultation report here.
Public information sessions for the port overlay will be held in Townsville and Magnetic Island to allow the local community to provide feedback.
The draft overlay and information of how to make a submission can be found here.
