Official Opening of Marina Square

On 24 November, the Marina Square Shopping Centre was officially opened in Wentworth Point by the Billbergia Group, which is the first integrated shopping centre in the region of Sydney Olympic Park.

Marina Square contains a 4200 square metre Coles Supermarket, 45 speciality stores including 15 restaurants and community services. The shopping centre will service the current 14,000 Wentworth Point population (with the total population expected to reach 25,000 by 2030) and also provide for the surrounding communities of Newington and Rhodes.

Rick Graf of Billbergia has said the centre has been designed and developed with the needs of both the local and broader community in mind.

“Residents have told us that shopping and dining options are critical components in building a sustainable residential community in Wentworth Point and surrounds,” he said.

“We are excited by the development, and with over 18,000 visitors to our opening day, we are confident in the centre’s ability to meet both the expectations of the locals as well as our own market objectives.

“Billbergia’s philosophy of creating communities means that the core principle of our projects will continue to be Work, Live and Play. We are excited to see Marina Square so readily embraced by the locals.”
