NSW Women and Diversity in Property committeeProperty Council’s newest NSW Division committee, the Women & Diversity in Property committee, was formed almost two years ago following a year of direction from a Women in Property Taskforce. Jointly the initiatives that have been developed as a result of the dedication of these members has resulted in:· Introduction of the Leadership Communication for Women in PropertyWorkshop – run 5-6 times annually in Sydney and 2-3 times annually in Melbourne.· Introduction of a forum/discussion place via a Women in Property LinkedIn group now with over 1,720 members since July 2013.· An increase in the participation of women serving on Property Council committees with a target of 40% representation from 2015· Establishment of the flagship annual Women in Property Lunch with over 1,800 guests in attendance in the last 3 years.· Introduction of a Networking Workshop series that featured Networking 101, Brand You and Leadership Presence across 3 events.· Introduction of an executive Mentoring Program aimed at developing senior executive women· Launch of a major research project into gender diversity in the property industry together with EYFindings of the research are expected to be released late Sep/early Oct and further responses as a result will be a focus of the committee in 2015.
