NSW Retirement Living Professionals converge on Sydney

NSW Retirement Living Professionals converge on SydneyThe Property Council’s Annual Retirement Forum is underway in Sydney today with around 200 industry members meeting to hear from industry leaders, discuss future challenges in retirement village operations, and network with their peers. The conference opened with a keynote from the Hon Victor Dominello MP, NSW Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation which includes fair trading responsibilities. The Minister has a mandate to improve government regulation and his department has commenced consultation on the statutory review of the Retirement Villages Regulations. The Property Council has met with the Minister and Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe to discuss this process and is also in regular meetings with the Retirement Villages Residents Association to seek common ground for the review. The NSW/ACT Manager of the Year Award will be presented this afternoon.
