Norup + Wilson’s Beach Shack Achieves Significant Sales with over $40 mil Secured
Norup + Wilson’s Beach Shack apartment development has secured over $40 million in sales, making it one of the fastest selling projects in Perth.
Located adjacent to the beach in Scarborough, the development comprises 99 one, two and three bedroom dwellings across two buildings and has been meticulously crafted to suit all tastes.
Based on the strong market demand, Norup + Wilson is now fast-tracking the development timeline, with the aim to commence piling within the next six months.
Following a formal launch last week, the team has secured over 45% in apartment sales – by number of apartments – with this figure continuing to grow.
Mr Dave Wilson, Director of Norup + Wilson said “there is an increased level of confidence returning to the Perth market. This increased market sentiment, in conjunction with an outstanding design, has helped The Beach Shack to achieve the second highest amount of sales by value for the Q3 2017 period.”
Dave said in addition to the Project’s stellar design, attributable to Plus Architecture, what makes this development truly rare is its beach front location.
“It is undeniably this combination which has led Urbis to report that the Beach Shack is one of the fastest selling developments in Perth,” he said.
Dave said the Beach Shack’s focus on the owner-occupier market, which offers a bespoke approach allowing future owners to customise not only the finishes but also their layouts, was unique to Western Australia.
“Every owner has their own unique way of living; therefore, we are offering design choices which are unrivalled in Western Australia.
“Owners who buy early enough have an incredible opportunity to be involved in designing their internal floorplans. This gives them greater comfort because buyers know what will be delivered at settlement, removing most of the risks associated with buying ‘off the plan’.”
Technology has played a big part in the design process, not only within the apartments but also within the building infrastructure. Every car bay has access to an electric vehicle charging point and a drone landing zone which Norup + Wilson believes will be essential specifications that buyers will want in the future.
“We sometimes forget that we are building some of the most advanced buildings in the world here in Australia, not only in terms of technology but also in terms of building quality. That is of course, provided that the property developer is focused on delivering quality.”
“Unlike other apartment developments, Norup + Wilson’s apartments are designed to reflect new technologies, now and into the future. Because of this futuristic planning, Norup + Wilson developments can be retrofitted with minimal ease – which makes them unique on a national scale. For example, if you want to add electric charging points to a building this is virtually impossible if the electrical board and incoming cable is not sized correctly,” he said
Plus Architecture Director and lead designer Patric Przeradzki said it was a privilege to work with Norup + Wilson and help conceptualise their vision for the Project.
“This development is unique in many ways; every scenario has been meticulously analysed to provide the best design outcomes for the residents from the arrival experience, through to the amenities and communal spaces.
“We wanted the residents to feel like they are in a resort, while being in the comfort of their own home with access to uninterrupted views of the ocean,” Patric said.
Piling is anticipated to commence in September 2018.
